Have you ever wondered why do we call psychology complicated? Well, Psychology talks about the nature of humans and their minds. Why we are what we are, why we think the way we do, why we behave a certain way, and why we feel what we feel? Imagine if someone were to ask you all these questions one after the other and made you answer them about yourself. Quite intimidating, right?
A step closer to 'Why' is Psychology Complicated!
Psychology is complicated, or badnaam because these exact questions are what it deals with. It deals with multiple complex topics at a single time. Moreover, psychology goes around analyzing multiple causes that could lead to that particular thing, and it still doesn't stop there.
The Final Destination
To add to that, do all these topics have an end? It usually ends with the realization that "there is no one single attributable cause." That is, this thing can be caused by X factor, by factor Y, and by multiple other factors which are much more in number than our alphabets.
Where the society steps in......
If all of this so far was not enough, there is stigma, or a different view that society associates with psychology and mental health. People are not aware of it, not ready to openly listen or talk about it. All of this ends up creating a big, big confusion and uncertainty or fear about approaching psychology in general.
If you are someone new to this view, let us know your thoughts about it in the comments. And if you are a psych-head like us, drop down all the things you've heard when you tried to explain this to someone, the stage is all yours!
