What to do if you’re sure you have a problem?

Has it ever happened to you that you walked into a room but forgot why you went there? Went to the kitchen to get water but came back without getting the bottle? Or went to an exam very well prepared but forgot everything when you saw the paper? Has this made you think if you are facing a Psychological Issue?

Often in such moments, we are left wondering if something is wrong with me. But how do we really know if something is wrong?  


Identify the nature of the Psychological issue

Understand what is happening such that you feel it is not right. Check when it happens and how frequently this thing is happening with you. 

How is it affecting you? 

How is the particular concern affecting you? In what different parts do you see it affecting? Are there issues in work, family, academic or social life because of the issue. What are some of the things that you have heard from others around you about it?

What steps have you tried to deal with it? 

We as humans, with our commendable quality of hope, try a lot of solutions when we face a problem rather than just giving up. See what all steps have you tried against the issue, what out of that has worked. What is something that has not worked at all?

Seek help with the right kind of professional

After trying out all of these things , if the issue still remains, do not hesitate in meeting a trained professional. If at all, you manage to be better for some time and the problem keeps coming back, even in that case, it is best to visit a professional.
